Semen Shipping Charges1
| UG will invoice and arrange shipping to the customers on semen orders taken by UG. The shipping service is $25.00, which covers the tank rental, liquid nitrogen, packing, inventory control, and delivery to the carrier. This fee is in addition to the freight service. |
Health Tests
These requests and requirements are to be done before or during the collection process.
UG recommended schedule of health tests are in compliance with the minimum requirements for health of bulls producing semen for A.I. as required by the National Association of Animal Breeders, Certified Semen Services (CSS), of which UG is an active member.
Bull owner requests that UG contract with its veterinarian to have the following health program. CSS Requirements for health testing for disease control of semen produced for A.I. Completion of tests takes a minimum of 8 weeks on mature bulls and 3 weeks on virgin bulls (less than 12 months of age). Copy of CSS requirements furnished upon request. |
Export of Semen
| To export semen additional health tests may be required. It is the responsibility of the Semen Owner to provide the required health testing paperwork that is required for the country being shipped to. Health tests vary with each country and change periodically. Semen Owner must notify UG in writing of intention to export semen at the same time this agreement is executed. |
Tests for Potential Exports
| Please designate countries of possible export. Testing of bull does not guarantee that semen will qualify. Semen Export requirements change continuously. Also, individual bull tests results will vary and individual bull may not qualify due to test results. |
Blood Typing and/or DNA Testing
| Many Breed Associations require blood typing, and/or DNA Testing or special permits on sires being used in artificial insemination. Please contact your Breed Association regarding the necessary procedures. UG can have your bull’s blood collected and mailed for typing, but it is the breeder’s responsibility to make arrangements with the Breed Association. If you want your bull’s blood typed, it will be necessary to send a copy of the bull’s registration papers with request. |
